Waterbear Group buys established businesses from owners who care where their business lands. We're an operator-led private investment firm based in Chicago, and we work alongside each team to strengthen what already makes the business successful.
We invest personal capital and take an active role in operations. That starts with learning the business, earning the team's trust, and being clear about what should stay and where we can help.
What We Look For
We look for businesses that operate quietly and serve customers who depend on them, with up to $2M in adjusted EBITDA and repeat customers. Businesses serving institutional customers are a particular fit:
- Food manufacturing and contract production
- Specialty manufacturing and printing
- B2B distribution in technical or regulated niches
- B2B services
